Dr Olivia Ogilvie is co-founder and CEO of Opo Bio, Aotearoa’s (New Zealand) first cultivated meat startup. Opo develops enabling technology for the cultivated meat industry, starting with cells and bespoke media ingredients. Olivia has a PhD in food biochemistry from University of Auckland and spent the three years working as a Research Fellow at University of Canterbury looking at the policy and regulatory environment of cultivated meat, alongside the Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor. She is an expert judge in the XPRIZE Feed The Next Billion competition and has a background in Venture Capital. She’s passionate about the future of food and scaling cultivated meat using innovative science.
